Moving from conspicuous to conscious consumption and doing reviews along the way.  Find plenty of unsponsored reviews of Quince, Everlane, Grana, and Cuyana on the site!  I'm working towards a minimal waste lifestyle, and oh yea I love bags >.<

Weekend Update/Ramblings

Hi guys, just checking in to see how your No Buy July is going (if you’re choosing to participate). I hope you guys made it this far (we’re already over halfway there!), but if not no sweat and maybe try again next month. As for me, I’m still feeling pretty strong and not buying clothes or beauty items. I did buy some things for Emi and a new bar shampoo (but trust me, I really needed it while traveling), but I plan to lay it all out at the end of the month in July’s What I Didn’t Buy (and What I Did Buy) post. I know there’s several sales coming up, going on (or past) like the Nordstrom sale and the babaa sale. I’m doing best trying not to look and tbh it’s been a bit easier this time around. Also we were in Palm Springs two weeks ago (hello Cabazon outlets) but I avoided the outlets (and tried not to feel too FOMO about it 😆), and I feel good about that too.

Nowadays I’ve been spending my time getting back into my zero waste ways (it all started with a visit to a friend and that bar shampoo). I realised I dropped a lot of my better habits when I had Emi and it’s time to revisit them again. Yes my sole zero waste efforts isn’t going to prevent climate change (we definitely need broad policy changes and corporate responsibility for that), but I have to start somewhere and I feel like it’s best to start with myself (I mean that’s why we all recycle and compost, or buy ethical and sustainable when we can, right?).

P.S. If you care about altering the course of climate change and/or saving the animals and our fellow humans from catastrophic events please watch David Attenborough’s Breaking Boundaries: The Science Of Our Planet on Netflix.
