Brightech Review: Sky Floor Lamp

One thing about living in an older house is that sometimes there are no overhead lights. We’re used to recessed lighting so we didn’t have many lamps when we moved in. Well I finally got a lamp about 2 years after moving in because we just needed more light (though I really didn’t want to accumulate more furniture). I’m not sure how I found Brightech, a San Francisco direct-to-consumer (DTC) company, but I’m so glad I did!

In some ways Brightech feels like the Everlane of the lighting world: an SF company, DTC model with no “traditional mark-ups”, and an eye for design. So maybe it’s not so surprising I found them and love them. And I have to say they have a lot of good-lookin modern and classic lamps (both floor and table models).

here it is in our house

The lamp that I go is called the Sky Floor Lamp and it’s one of their most popular items. It’s an LED lamp that’s super bright but takes up very little floor space. We have it angled so the light bounces off the wall. The light has a slight yellow glow so it feels more homey and there are three settings for brightness. We have it on the brightest setting since it’s a large dark room and needs all the light it can get.

I also appreciate that there’s a 30 day free return policy (because you never know for sure if a lighting fixture will work for your room until you try it) and that there’s a five year warranty on their products. I’ve already been eyeing the Kai USB table lamp for my office. Anyway if you’re interested in well designed lighting at a reasonable price, I highly recommend checking out Brightech!
