Rudy Jude Day Blouse Review

I tried to go to the Rudy Jude store twice, on the two separate occasions I was in LA, and sadly the store was closed both times. I think fate was telling me not to be tempted with their high-priced (but ethically made) clothing. Well lucky for me, I happened to be on Insta when Helen decided to sell her white day blouse (just the item I had been wanting). So what did I think of the insta-famous Rudy Jude Day Blouse?

Well it’s a fun one alright. I love me a puff sleeve so it’s a real joy to wear. And I’ve gotten a couple compliments on it already. The material is a stiff cotton poplin that wrinkles a bit but not egregiously.

As for sizing, I’m wearing a medium here and I would say it fits though it’s a tad tight in the chest (and I’m an A-cup). I imagine if you’re bustier, this blouse would not fit as well. And in some of my pics, you can see my white bra through the top (though I wouldn’t say it’s super noticeable).

Overall I like the blouse, but I’m glad I got it secondhand (and thus a tad cheaper than retail). I get it that Rudy Jude ethically makes all their products in LA and only uses plant-based dyes. But I have to admit their price point is so inaccessible it borders on the ridiculous. TBH I don’t see myself splurging on something from them again in the future, even if their quality is great. And for a fraction of the cost, I like my Day Blouse dupe made by Christina just a bit more (maybe because it’s made from linen and not as tight in the chest). So if you can sew it yourself, I say that’s the best way to go. Or make friends with someone that can sew lol.

P.S. You can see me wearing the top layered under a dress here.
