OffOn Clothing Review: The Belle Dress (Empire Waist Raglan Sleeve Dress)

OffOn Clothing Review

I had heard of OffOn Clothing for awhile now since they’re a favorite in the ethical fashion Insta world. But none of their items really called to me until I saw this Belle Dress several months ago. So for those of you who requested an OffOn Clothing review, this one’s for you!

If you haven’t heard of this slow fashion brand before, they’re a small women-led business out of Lithuania and sell their items through Etsy. Unlike the other Lithuanian makers I’ve reviewed in the past like Linenfox and NotPerfectLinen, OffOn Clothing has quite a lot of items and use fabrics other than linen. But like the other Lithuanian brands, everything is made to order (and thus theoretically customizable, though I just went with their sizing on this one). I got this in a size small and I think it fits well (though this oversized dress is definitely forgiving when it comes to sizing). But it’s a touch long and I might look to hem it in the future so it hits at the knees.

Also because this item is made-to-order from Lithuania, it took quite a bit to get to me (guess that’s why they call it slow fashion, har har). So be prepared to wait a couple of months (at least) for the item to arrive. But on the flip side of that, the item itself is quite reasonable since it’s being hand made in Lithuania as opposed to say the US. This dress cost me $134 and that included shipping.

As for the dress, I love it. I really like the poplin fabric for this dress since it gives it some structure and helps hold the pleats. I originally thought that this was 100% organic cotton but it’s actually 97% organic cotton and 3% spandex, which gives it a slight stretch. And even though this a light-colored dress the fabric is pretty opaque (though I think the shape off the dress helps to ensure you can’t see your undergarments).

I love the puff sleeves on this dress (of course) and the fact that the pleats start high at chest level so it doesn’t add bulk to the waist or hips. The neutral color means this dress is pretty casual despite the puffiness, but it can also be dressed up to be quite a fun party frock.

Overall I’m really happy with the quality and design of this dress. I would definitely recommend checking out OffOn if you’re looking for a well-made slow fashion frock!
