I was influenced by Insta (specifically Brianna) for the impulse purchase of this Tiered Felted Blouse from Olive Clothing. I saw her version in black and instantly fell in love (then searching through her comments to find the brand behind the top and then going through and searching for it on their website). I had never heard of Olive before but they are a family-owned business from the UK. They don’t market themselves as ethical but they do have a corporate conscious statement and take their ethical responsibilities as a brand seriously. Their statement to me seems like an honest and thorough read and not an ethical-washing blurb (which makes me like them even more).

I love the minimal life-in-the-country vibe of their clothes. But this particular blouse looks a bit like from the Shakespearean era lol. Something about the volume and floofiness called to me. I like balancing the big top out with slimmer pants (in the top two photos I’m wearing the Everlane slim leg crop). But I also tried it with my mom jeans (ie the Agolde 90’s jeans) in the pic below and I like it there too, which just goes to show I guess mom jeans can go with anything these days.

Overall I think the quality of this 100% cotton is great. The felted cotton material is basically flannel without the patterns. The black one that Brianna was wearing was sold out when I found this blouse, but I think this ivory colored one is great for spring. It’s 100% opaque and not see through at all (the material is quite thick). This top only comes in one size (so sadly not size inclusive). I’m a size 4-6 on top and found the top to be quite loose. In their description, they say the top will work up to a size 12 US. The sleeves have elastic around the wrist but I push it up to create more of a puffy sleeve (plus it’s too hot for flannel and long sleeves here in Hawaii).

Anyway I really love this top and can’t wait to wear more of it back in the cooler temps of California. I think their items are well-made and if I see something from them that I like again I’d be a repeat customer. Has anyone else tried Olive and what did you think?
