What I Bought in September

What I did spend my money on: an Airstream trip

What I did spend my money on: an Airstream trip

It must have been the 30 days straight of smoky air from the wildfires, the gut punches of RBG’s death and Breonna Taylor’s murderers being acquitted (plus the pandemic of course), but I did not buy a single item of clothing this month. A No-Buy September for my closet. I did however spend money on a trip to wine country and an Airstream trip as a 10 year wedding anniversary gift (all of which was 100% worth it). And we purchased a travel crib for Emi for these trips. But I also got some gifted items so I thought I would mention them here:

What I Bought

The Lotus Travel Crib by Guava: We originally purchased a Graco Pack n’ Play and though it was useful for Emi’s newborn and infant stages, now that she can stand she no longer can sleep in the Pack N’ Play (it’s a tipping hazard). So after doing some research, we purchased the Lotus travel crib that is meant to sleep kids up to 3 years old. And we love it. It doesn’t tip, even with the full weight of a 30 pound 1.5 year old leaning on it. And she loves it too!

What I Was Gifted

Okaysou Air Purifier: Couldn’t say no to a free air purifier during the worse wildfires in California’s history. Review of it here.

Organic Basics underwear: You know me and my love for organic cotton underwear. So when this Danish, sustainably-minded company asked if I wanted to try out their organic cotton underwear, I didn’t hesitate. Review coming soon!

Harlem Heirloom Candle in Italian Fig: Jammie, the co-founder of this USA-made, BIPOC brand reached out with some questions about influencer marketing and kindly sent me their Italian Fig candle as a thank you. Can’t wait to try it out!

P.S. For those who are wondering about my Airstream trip, I rented an Airstream from my former business GoSilver. My husband and I founded that business and then sold it in 2018. We still love Airstreaming but for so many reasons (including a baby) we decided to enjoy Airstream trips ourselves instead of making a living off of renting it to others. For those in the Bay Area who want to try Airstreaming, I highly recommend GoSilver and its new owner Michael (he is the nicest guy)!
