About

Hi guys and welcome to Fairly Curated.  My name is Elaine and I’ve been writing this blog for about 7 years now. I’m currently working as a shopgirl and social media manager over at Planet Renu (my local zero-waste/refill store). Over time this blog has morphed into a space where I not only talk about what's going on with me personally, but also a site where I review some of my favorite (mostly) ethical and/or slow fashion brands like Two Days Off Clothing and Linenfox (though most of my clothes these days are secondhand from Crossroads Trading, eBay or the RealReal). I'm a former beauty product junkie and recovering purse addict (though I still love bags) . My reviews run the gamut but I’m presently try to focus on women-owned/run brands, BIPOC-owned/run brands, or ethical businesses. I also like to read books and garden, so I’ll talk about that from time to time along with more sustainable habit-changes I’m trying to make routine in my life.

Most items reviewed and featured on my blog are things I've purchased myself (unless they’re not, and then I'd clearly let you know at the beginning of the post).  I sometimes have referral links in my posts where I can earn store credit.  Lastly, I am a part of Amazon Associates, Pepperjam, Awin, ShareaSale, Impact, RewardStyle, VigLink and Shopstyle Collective, which are affiliate programs (where I usually earn cents per click or a small percentage of commission per purchase).  As always, and as it should be, all opinions are my own and I try to be as transparent as possible in my posts.  Thank you to all my readers for your continued support, in clicks as well as your time!

You can read about why I changed my blog name to Fairly Curated here. And you can read what I think makes for a Fairly Curated item here (my mission statement for this blog).
