I originally did a Thinx review back in 2016, and my love for my original pairs are still going strong. (If you’re not familiar with Thinx, they’re underwear with an inner lining so that it soaks up your period and you don’t have to use a pad). I use my Thinx underwear constantly and they even worked out when I was pregnant when you’re still leaking all kinds of fluids. My original lace pair are still holding up well with only a tad rip in the lace for one of them. But since my fibroids have made my current medium size Thinx underwear too small, I decided to buy a couple more pairs in large. And I have to say, in the three years since I’ve last purchased their underwear they’ve made some improvements. So much so that I felt a new review of them was highly warranted.
For my newest additions, I tried the super hiphugger and the hi-waist. I loved one but not so much the other. I loved the super hiphugger because one, it can hold up to 4 tampons worth so they’re awesome on your heaviest days. Two, the hiphugger inner lining material is not only better at wicking away the moisture than my 3-year old Thinx underwear, but they also feel nicer. And lastly, the odor controlling inner material that they use now it also much better than whatever they used on their original production undies. Also the geometric triangle “lace” panel they use now is also stretchier and more comfortable than the original lace they used.
As for the hi-waist Thinx undies, I wasn’t really a fan. It might look cool, but I found the hi-waisted ones quite uncomfortable. And that’s mostly due to the seam where the absorbent material meets the sheer lace. That seam kind of dug into my skin, leaving a mark and irritated my skin.
Overall though I have to say that the newer Thinx underwear is quite a lot better and I would seriously go out and buy more pairs of the hiphugger if I wasn’t getting a hysterectomy in a couple of months (after which I won’t even need Thinx because I won’t have my period). Anyway if you haven’t tried them yet, here’s a referral link for $10 off your first purchase. As for me, I’ll keep my old pairs around for when I start needing them for bladder issues.
P.S. Thanks emolychan for reminding me about my referral link! This Thinx referral link with get you $10 off your first order. And as always thanks for supporting me and the blog!
